Motorcycle & scooter

Mandatory basic courses in small groups and private lessons with a dedicated instructor: everything you need to get your motorcycle or scooter license in Geneva, categories A1 and A. Departing from Cornavin, Eaux-Vives, Versoix, or the OCV.

  • On your motorcycle or scooter
  • Categories A1 and A
  • 4h or 12h depending on your license
  • French, English, Arabic, Turkish

Which motorcycle course is right for you?

Two distinct paths, taken separately: the mandatory basic courses to validate your license, and on-demand private lessons, not included in the mandatory 12h, to learn or progress at your own pace. The goal: to prepare you as well as possible for all riding conditions and the road environment.

Mandatory courses

Basic motorcycle course4h or 12h

Mandatory to obtain the motorcycle or scooter licence (A, A1). In small groups, on fixed-date sessions, bookable and payable online.

  • Already hold an A1 licence: the 4h
  • No motorcycle category yet: the 12h

Not sure? The number of hours required is written on the right-hand side of your learner's permit.

Private lessons

Initiation& perfectionnement

The mandatory courses are not beginner courses. Never ridden before, or want to improve before your basic course or your exam? Book a one-to-one lesson with one of our instructors, at your own pace.

  • Dedicated instructor, motorcycle or scooter
  • Flexible hours, weekdays and weekends

To enroll in the basic course, you need the learner's permit for the relevant category (A1 or A). We'll help you with the process if needed.

How does the basic course work?

12h spread over several sessions, or 4h depending on your category. A 4-stage progression, from mastering the two-wheeler to preparing for the practical exam.

1

Basics

Getting to grips with the two-wheeler at low speed: balance, position, vision, braking. On our practice ground, away from traffic.

2

Traffic

You ride in real Geneva conditions, supervised by your instructor: roundabouts, lane selection, heavy traffic.

3

Maneuvers

The mandatory practical exercises: slalom, avoidance, emergency braking. You repeat them until you've mastered them.

4

Exam prep

Simulation of practical exam conditions and final adjustments: you know exactly what to expect on the big day.

You come with your own registered motorcycle or scooter (L plate), compliant with your category (check that its power matches your learner's permit), with its vehicle's road permit and a full tank. Bring your approved gear: helmet, gloves, motorcycle jacket and pants, high motorcycle boots.

One of the best in Geneva to get your first aid, theorie, sensibilisation and so on. I did my first aid on another school (wasn't happy/unsatisfied) but I did my theorie and sensi here, and it is way way better. I wanted the course in english because I am not confident in my french and what's the point of studying if you won't understand anything. And here it's just perfect! With Slim (Slim Shady) all is explained well, informations were clear (especially in my theorie it helps a lot). Will point out from the smallest point to the obvious ones. It's very recommendable and if you're not confident on your french and you want it in english. Do it here! And even if you're finished with the course they are still open for questions regarding driving/rules or to help you out etc. 🙌👌🤝📌

I enjoyed the Slim instructor's classes; his explanations are excellent, and the sessions are very engaging. Additionally, they generously provided aperitifs during breaks, showing great kindness. I highly recommend them.

I did well in my driver's license conversion test thanks to the very thorough and clearly explained driving lessons by Mr. Slim Kassous. I took 4 lessons and learned a great deal. Highly recommended—the driving school truly lives up to its name: success indeed!

I did the first aid course here. Very engaging and good instructions. The instructor was very knowledgeable and sensitive about people’s experiences.

Frequently asked questions · Motorcycle and scooter

A1 license or A license: what's the difference?
The A1 license covers motorcycles and scooters up to 125cc and 11 kW. The A license covers more powerful motorcycles: since 2021, you start with the A category limited to 35 kW, then you can move to unlimited power after 2 years of experience. The training path changes depending on the category you're aiming for: we're happy to guide you.
Basic course: 4h or 12h?
12h if you don't yet have any motorcycle category on your license. 4h if you already hold the A1 license and are moving up to the higher category. If in doubt, the number of hours to complete is written on the right side of your learner's permit.
Do I need to bring my own motorcycle?
Yes, for the basic courses you come with your own motorcycle or scooter, registered (L plate) and compliant with your learner's permit category (check its power), with its vehicle's road permit and a full tank. For introductory private lessons, we can lend you a vehicle: discuss with your instructor based on your plan.
What gear do I need to bring?
Approved gear: helmet (we can lend you one if needed), gloves, motorcycle jacket and pants, high motorcycle boots. We're happy to advise you before your first course.
I've never ridden: can I enroll directly in the basic course?
The basic course is not a beginner's course: you need to already know how to handle your two-wheeler. If you're starting from scratch, begin with an introductory private lesson with an instructor, then move on confidently to the basic course.
What happens if I can't make it to my session?
Courses are neither cancellable nor refundable, but you can reschedule your session free of charge by notifying us at least 72 working hours in advance, by phone. After that deadline, the course is due.
